Linkin Park

The Odeon
Thursday, Sept 28, 2000

Since Cleveland rock radio lives in the hair-metal past, it’s no surprise that this three-and-a-half-hour rap-rock show only drew enough Juggalos rap-rock’s Insane Clown Posse faithful to pack the Agora’s pit leaving hundreds of theater seats empty. Too bad, because rap-rock is in many ways the 21st-century equivalent of grizzled hair-metal a decadent and derivative style readymade for masses of working-class rebels. Linkin Park, another new group, got the best response of all for their double-barreled assault, featuring a grungified singer and a badass rapper.
