Review from metal-is
P.O.D. | (HED)P.E. | PROJECT 86 | LINKIN PARK
State Theater, Detroit, USA
7 Nov 2000
Linkin Park

The concert in general got a 3

There hasn't been much press for the Christian heavy metal element thus far, but that is very likely to change given the phenomena that is P.O.D. and Project 86. The two bands are doing brisk business in most markets, accompanied by (hed)p.e. and Linkin Park, and attracting a very different type of rock crowd - damn strange for us heathens, but near heaven for the kids buying the tickets. The State Theater in Detroit hosts rock's most extreme tours, but this one struck many staffers as one of the most bizarre in recent memory. A nearly sold out concert, and not a single negative incident? People using garbage cans for their intended purpose? Everyone leaving quietly when it was all done? Yep, this was P.O.D. and friends - still the house rocked like any other show. Linkin Park began the evening with a nearly full house, despite not having a single recognisable song to play. The audience was respectfully milling around as the rap-core unit did their best to break a sweat for 30 minutes and then met with those who were interested by the concessions booth for a Coke.
